I tried many generic clonable id sensors for my bmw i3 and unfortunately they didn't work. Programming tool would detect perfectly but car would not despite many resets. Got a $18 continental OEM sensor that required a $700 very specific programming tool and then it worked perfectly. Something about encryption I read. I am no professional mechanic, just sharing my experience
