Generally agree, I bought this though to go along with my 2k doorbell and I thought my eyes were deceiving me as this looked better than 2k doorbell. I looked it up and apparently this model uses a better lens than the doorbell I have.

Overall solid camera, word of caution though it's not waterproof at all. I accidentally sprayed it with a hose once when washing the house and water killed it and had to get a replacement.

I have several of the 1080 and the 2k. The 1080 battery lasts forever and is plenty for detecting people coming up the driveway, to the front door to deliver packages. The 2ks are better for zooming in at the edge of the lot and maintaining clarity.

This is not a deal!
I bought two of these back in early 2025 for $37.98
Great cams, no issues!

Costco just had the 4pk of TC85 2K cams with solar panels for $129

AI Overview: The Tapo TC85 and Tapo C425 are not two different cameras—they are the exact same product, often marketed under different names.

If rain ruins it then TP link calling it an outdoor camera is incorrect.

They didn't say rain, they said they hit it with hose. Major difference between even a severe thunderstorm rain and blasting something with a hose.

Mine died from the rain in less than a year. Also really just a terrible cam often offline or records with gaps. I've realized that tapo cams just aren't very good as all mine frequently remotely disconnect.

Tapo cams are terrible and so is their customer service
