This is a large tub of Orville Redenbacher popcorn kernels that stands out for bulk value, especially when the coupon and Subscribe and Save stack correctly. Checkout examples land around $5.98 with no tax, and the 8 pound size also shows coupon eligibility. The kernels are also described as a practical pantry staple, though freshness matters because older stock can dry out and pop poorly. A few notes raise concerns about conventional farming and flavor coming out dry or bland, so it works best if you will use it relatively quickly.

  • The 8 lb container can show coupon eligibility and may price out around $9.30 out the door.

  • The checkout math can land at about $5.98 total with no tax and zero shipping charges.

  • Coupon access can reportedly be restored by contacting Amazon support or using a workaround with a second account.

  • The smaller white kernels are described as more tender than the larger yellow kernels.

  • The kernels can dry out over time, which can reduce popping performance and increase staleness.

  • Some experiences describe the popcorn as dry and bland, requiring seasoning to improve flavor.

  • The coupon discounts shown on the product page may fail to appear at checkout.

  • Freshness and handling may be questionable when the best-buy date appears far out and packaging looks slimy.

The big yellow kernels look good, but the smaller more tender white kernels are my current choice:

To anyone consistently not getting any coupons (and I was blacklisted for like half a year) - a decent workaround is to create another Amazon account and link it to your existing/same primary Prime account (and credit card), and use that account for all coupon-related purchases. Has worked well for 2 months and finally have coupons again.
Will the order show up in the history of the primary account?

Nope. Again, not a miracle fix...but a decent workaround to get back to coupon-based slick deals.

If you actually care about Non-GMO, most popcorn is not GMO because it is made with flint corn. Most commercial field corn used for food and oils etc is GMO, but not popcorn.

There's an amazon saver brand of popcorn on amazon for the same price per oz as this if you don't get the coupon.

Great deal but the kernels tend to dry out and not pop very well/get stale if you don't use them relatively quickly.

Mine came out to $5.98. No tax. Starting price pre discount was $8.98. Thank you Op. I was just about to go buy it at Costco, but this saves me a few bucks, and it's cheaper per pound than Costco.
Same for me

Hey folks I didn't see anyone post this but popcorn kernals can start to go bad after a couple of years even if stored in a cool dry place. The kernals start to dry out so you start getting more and more unpopped kernals. We're starting to see this with a 2lb bag of Jolly Time white popcorn kernals that had a best buy date of 10/25 stored almost three years in our Lincoln Popper in the basement/movie room. No way could we consume 8 pounds but 5 might be doable lol...
I had a ... probably 5 year old container of this I opened recently (within the last year recent)... had no problems with it whatsoever!

And, I'm not contradicting what you said, just anecdotal on a big tub of this one.

Just received the 5lb version and of course the best buy date (very tiny etched in plastic above label) is April 2027. Pretty slimy Amazon...

No worries! I'm sure it is all about the quality and storage. I saw a separate thread somewhere that they found a 25 year old jug that was not opened and it popped!
