Still my favorite album of theirs. I listened to this growing up when it came out. I was in 8th grade. They toured and I saw them play at a hole in the wall place in Cleveland - the Grog Shop. It was my first show. I was 14.

LOL. White pony is when they went MTV mainstream. You missed out during the first two albums.the tours were legendary. this album they toured with Pantera for it .white pony was very corporate and gained all the new fans.

yeah but (prepares for downvotes) honestly this type of highly compressed 2000s rock sounds way better on CD or digital. I love vinyl but some stuff was just not meant for it.

If you like Nu Metal and it's shouts, growls and rap-singing, and samey sounding songs, this is a good place to start with Deftones.. but personally I think this is their 2nd worst album(out of 10).

Bored and Engine No. 9 are the highlights, former being their first commercial hit.

They evolved quickly... the 2nd album, "Around the Fur" is remarkably better in all aspects, particularly songwriting, and they were already starting to abandon some of the annoying nu metal aesthetic.
