UH, no one wants a DVD movie instead of a Blu-ray or 4K..
It's actually strange, but DVD is still outsell Blu-ray and 4K discs, even in 2026 with about 50 to 60% of new discs sold being in that format. Blu-rays trail at 20-25% so DVDs outsell Blu-rays 2-3 to 1. 4K discs are only about 20% of sales. There's kind of a weird thing where people are moving away from Blu-rays and either going higher end with 4K discs (where sales are increasing) or opting for the less expensive DVDs.

To be fair, I think the main reason DVDs are still selling well is the price.
Blu-rays are just too expensive. I personally prefer digital library out of sheer laziness.

That's a huge part of it. A large number of those sales are attributed to places like Walmart where you can pick up a 2 or 3 movie sets for $5.
You probably already know if you like/want this movie, but as a fantasy snob, a movie snob, and a D&D snob, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and think it's a very fun well done movie. If you think you'll watch it once, and don't have a streaming service that offers it, I'd say it's well worth the $5.

I recently saw a symphony perform the score live along with the movie. The film's composer conducted the orchestra. It was surprisingly enjoyable. I had only seen the movie once before and I recalled it being fairly entertaining.
