A total of 4 years of protection for $9.99 is very good. The warranty company will weigh the cost of repairs (% of the total paid for the unit) against paying you off. My 2013 KitchenAid fridge had 2 separate service calls in the first 2 yrs. When I called to report another issue, the woman at the warranty company put me on hold and came back and said they were sending me a check for my full purchase price b/c they will not go past a certain dollar amount of repairs, and I only had barely $125 left on the account they had allotted for repairs, which is a fraction of the purchase price. So they sent me a check for $1798, and I had the repair done easily for under $65, and never had another problem with it. Still using it, but replacing it with this deal.
Most issues with fridges pop up within 2 years, and there is a good chance the warranty company will send you a $656 check for this fridge (or whatever you paid for the unit only) before ever putting much $$ into repairs at that low price. That is why I didn't want to pay $68.99 for 2 extra years, since that is 1/10 of what I would get back if it were a true lemon, and that would be known within 1-2 years of the life of the fridge.
