The nearest value competition is gigabyte aero 16" 4.2 lbs. at $1400.

But the 14" zephyrus has similar
Value if you are need it (for $800 more)
+200 for oled
+150 for DDR7 vs DDR5
+400 for 5080 (16gb vram) vs 5070 (8gb vs ram)

A remaining $50 warrants Metal chassis, more and better placed usbc ports, higher thermal limits and better brand supports.

Omen is too heavy and razor blade too expensive

I'd say in the current market it's more than a $400 gap between a laptop 5080 and 5070.

Got the 5070ti version of this and it is a beast. Battery life is ok if only using for simple tasks like browsing web and word/excel documents. But you're really not buying this for that. Gaming performance for what essentially is a Macbook is phenomenal. Build quality is unmatched.

I was looking at that one. I don't like the idea of stepping down to 16GB soldered memory, and the 5080 seems like overkill in a laptop. A 5070 mobile doesn't seem to increase performance all that much over the 5060 from what I have read. How are thermals and noise when pushing the 5070ti? Honestly, if there was a 5060 with 32gb available anywhere I looked I would be considering that one too.

Mine has 32gb memory. As far as thermals they aren't horrible considering it's a aluminum chassis and the form factor. Noise can be loudish so if your planning on pushing the 5070ti in like class or a quite space maybe don't lol... But I bought mine for mobile gaming when traveling.

Pretty good deal. I was wondering... if I undervolt this GPU, hopefully it'll help with the thermals and heat.

This one seems a good deal also, less computer, but a lot less $$$, soldered memory though

look around at reviews etc. this is the best bang for your buck if you want to game some on a laptop. i have one from a year ago and it's EASILY the best laptop I've ever had and that includes macbook pro's. i can't speak highly enough of this laptop.
