Recent reviews on Amazon say that Quicken has started enforcing the "for new subscribers" part.

Don't make the same mistake I did. This is definitely for new subscribers only. When I tried to enter the activation code with my existing subscription in Quicken, I received the message "the activation code entered is for new subscribers only". Whelp, there goes $43.04 for Premier since this is non-refundable.

Did you try backing up/exporting your file, creating a new Quicken account with a different email, redeeming the code there, then importing your data?

It'd be a hassle, but seems like it might work. I'm tempted to try it myself.

I'll keep this in mind when my current subscription is close to expiring. Thanks for the tip!

Is your quicken data file tied to your account? I'm asking because if these are for new accounts only, can you just create a new account using a different email and just reload your old data file and continue using it? It's getting to the point I'm probably just going to dump Quicken if I have to use these "workarounds" just "to see my finances".

Yes. That's what I did on my last new customer only. New email. Import data file. Pain in the butt though when something doesn't go right. Like having to redo all of my Chase account log-ins. But may have just been me.
