FYI, the 2yr AppleCare+ is worth around $30-$40. That's how much it was on my Pro 2s

I got this deal in January and completely forgot I had AppleCare+. Totally worth it because I dropped an AirPod and the case on concrete at work. I didn't use them since January. Just had them fixed/replaced by Apple yesterday.

It depends how you bought it. If you bought it through a retailer and not straight through Apple, I believe you have to go through that retailer and request a refund. If you bought it through Apple, they prorate your refund automatically

I have Apple Care One and it keeps the APP3 as a separate Apple Care device, so you are not charged for an additional device. I do not advise adding it to Apple Care One unless you have extra slots open. It's $5.99/month for each additional device after you have filled your 3 slots, but Apple Care for APP3 is only $20/year ($1.67/month) and is the exact same coverage. I only recommend ever adding a Mac/MacBook (same coverage, but cheaper annually with 3 devices) or an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch (includes loss & theft without the higher price tag).

I just bought these for $179 for Prime day and like them for listening and for sleep. I would pay the extra $20 now instead of waiting for the next big sale.

My AirPods Pro 2 charging case suddenly stopped wirelessly charging, thankfully have AppleCare.
My AirPods Pro 1 went through the wash and dryer, thankfully had AppleCare (usually am very careful, rare occurrence).
Another AirPod pro 1 suddenly had the static problem (recall mentioned on official Apple site), and even though AppleCare was expired and recall replacement program ended, Costco refunded it after I explained to them my wife barely ever uses them and they were manufactured in the recall program defective lot date range.

Point is Costco plus AppleCare is a a must with these imo.

A lot of 1-star reviews on Costco say they received products with open seals. Is this an open-box deal with 2-yr AppleCare thrown in? 51 out of 146 reviews are 1-Star!

Buy it at your local Costco warehouse if you're concerned about receiving an open box item. Seems to primarily be an issue with eCommerce orders. Same deal - $199.99 APP3 + AC+.
