so this is my cheap let's fix this old beater up almost like new. change oil, trans fluid, air in tires, air filter, et al; assume people are almost brain dead and you'll get the picture. nothing much surprises me anymore, nothing. or take a chance and see what happens, and it will happen. YMMV.

Chevron Techron High Mileage is a fuel system cleaner aimed at older cars, especially for keeping injectors and the rest of the fuel system cleaner between maintenance intervals. It is described as useful for used cars, GDI engines, and vehicles that do not always run Top Tier gas, with some noting it can smooth rough running and is part of Hyundai maintenance schedules. The main limits are that it will not clean direct injection intake valves, and newer cars may not need the High Mileage version. Price is the other sticking point, with repeated calls that the deal is still too high and that similar bottles often sell for less.
Owners of older high-mileage cars with rough running, because it can clean up fuel-system deposits and restore smoother operation.
Drivers who skip Top Tier gas and want periodic injector cleaning, because the additive is more relevant when detergent is not already in the fuel.
Car owners who like to add a cleaner before an oil change, because it can be dumped in and run through the tank as part of routine service.
Hyundai drivers following scheduled maintenance, because it is recommended at specified intervals and appears in the 60k GDI maintenance window.
Direct-injection owners hoping to clean intake valves, because this product mainly helps injectors and does not reach the valves or plenums.
Drivers who already use Top Tier gasoline, because the detergent is already present and the additive may not be necessary.
Shoppers expecting a dramatic fix for every engine problem, because the improvement can be modest and may feel like a placebo.
Drivers of newer cars with little buildup, because the High Mileage formula may be unnecessary and can strip deposits that should stay.
