yes, i buy used cars and this is just mandatory for used cars. many people are Clueless concerning car maintenance and probably everything else in life.
so this is my cheap let's fix this old beater up almost like new. change oil, trans fluid, air in tires, air filter, et al; assume people are almost brain dead and you'll get the picture. nothing much surprises me anymore, nothing. or take a chance and see what happens, and it will happen. YMMV.
I think you're going to see more widespread use of these cleaners like this deal as more and more engines go GDI with forced induction (turbo or supercharged). It might not remove the need entirely to walnut blast the intake, but it should keep the buildup to a minimum. Hyundai put it in their 60k maintenance window for their GDI engines.

This does next to nothing for valves on a direct injection motors. It will help clean the injector nozzles if you frequently use gas without added detergents.
Instead of buying half a gallon of discounted snake oil, do yourself and your car a favor and spend this money on a new fuel filter. Pretty much all gas in US is premixed with detergent.
People complain about additives and most are snake oil. This is one of the only lab-proven formulas. It doesn't help as much if you're habitually using top-tier gas...but I'm saving 40-50c/gal by using Murphy/Walmart and add this every few fillups. Still, this isn't a good deal.

Here's the truth about fuel system cleaners.
1) Top tier gasolines already have this so this shouldn't be necessary. What makes top tier gasolines qualify is that this exact same cleaner or something similar is already included in the gasoline in sufficient amounts to prevent buildup.
2) Top tier doesn't necessarily mean top price. Costco is top tier and is one of the cheapest gasolines you can buy.
3) If your system does get dirty due to the use of non-top tier gasoline, then this would be helpful.
4) Direct injection engine intake valves and intake plenums will not be helped by as this will not hit them. It will help on everything else.
