That person wasn't talking about the small minority of people taking these to stay alive, they are talking about those that have diarrhea from bad food and taking these which is counterintuitive.

Walmart sells a couple of generic versions. These are regular pills as opposed to the gel caps, but I don't think there is that big of a difference in time to be effective. This is the one I buy as they are the second cheapest to Costco. 12 for $1.08
