Theme - midnight.
Add a pic to a comment in Hot Deals forum.
Now try to edit to remove that pic - no such option?

the link to switch to classic is at the bottom the footer, generally on the bottom right side of the page (and in classic the link to switch back to redesign is generally on the bottom left). I know sometimes some tools can be a bit wonky in midnight/redesign so I might try switching to classic.
Otherwise, in redesign I believe the picture enlarging when you click on it is by design, so you can review it at full size. From your picture, does clicking the edit button a 2nd time allow you to edit the pictures?

Yes, in redesign click on thumbnail enlarges the attached pic.
Second click on edit does nothing.
edit:
Click edit - click on thumbnail - attached pic enlarges and comes in focus to the foreground same as before edit was clicked. Click X closes the image, same as click outside of the image borders. Nothing other than X in top right of the image shows up on mouse over.

I am not a dev but switching site views is probably a much more common change than the other site settings, so making it available on pretty much every page avoids the numerous clicks it takes to get to site settings.
Things sometimes change quickly in redesign as it is being actively developed and I can't say I've had reason to use images there in some time so I'm less familiar with how things are supposed to work.

But if someone cares to work on this, here's a bit more weirdness:
1. Switched to classic.
2. Now looking at that post - no Edit button, but
3. Click on the post count (14) in top right - post opens by itself - now there's edit with old classic attachment manage function.
No big deal, I didn't try to troubleshoot, to close/reopen the site or log out/in or incognito. If devs would get to dealing with this, I'll leave it to them.
