Decent deal. Some States provide this same unit through state Energy programs. Unit is very loud in my opinion and also doesn't cool as strong in my 200 sq ft room.

I had the same experience with an older version of this 6K BTU Frigidaire. It's weird because I replaced it with a 5K BTU Frigidaire and it was much quieter and cooled much better.

If you really care about energy use, get an inverter AC. Not only less electricity, but can be considerably quieter.

I would avoid Amazon for window AC units. I've gotten 3 of them in the past 2-3 years and they were all shipped inside another box - not sure why as they did not provide any protective packaging inside, would have been easier to slap a shipping label on the manufacturer box. The problem is the AC box is clearly labeled all over it NOT to ship or lay on its side. How do they ship it? Yeah...Get the box and you can seen refrigerant oil seeping out of it. Nice. Of course its a pain in the butt having to take a heavy AC unit to UPS or Staples for a return. 2 of the units were like that but one turned out ok despite being on its side. Just beware.

Inverter ACs are extremely rare for 10,000 BTU or less units

The refrigerant couldn't leak out just from the boxes orientation, it's a sealed system.

depends on model. i have a 12,000 btu inverter unit that uses more watts and energy over time than a different 12,000 btu model with no inverter

? false. TCL, Midea, Hisense, and LG have several 8,000 BTU inverter models. I have 8k Midea and Hisense units purchased from Costco. Under $350 with a simple google search.
