Yo, you and me both are in the same boat. However, I refuse to buy the 5800X3D at such elevated prices since I already own an unused 5700X3D which I bought back in Oct 2024 for $145 all in and I'm still waiting to receive a 9070 XT that I bought from a seller on AliExpress the Sunday right before Prime Day for less than $500. What this launch implies to me is that AMD intends to take advantage of the RAMpocalypse situation due to folks deciding to hold on to their AM4 builds longer till current RAM prices subside which currently doesn't do me any favors. Maybe when AMD decides to price the 5800X3D at $250 or lower would be when I'd be willing to take a shot at it.
This bundle pairs the Ryzen 7 5800X3D with a 240 mm MSI liquid cooler, and the strongest appeal is gaming performance on AM4, especially for reducing stutter and improving high resolution play. The cooler adds value for builds that need one, and undervolting is said to cut heat while keeping the chip stable. The main drawback is price, with repeated pushback that $349 is steep for an older CPU and that AM5 or other bundles offer better value. It feels best suited to someone staying on AM4 and wanting a final upgrade.
AM4 gamers chasing smoother VR or high-resolution play, because the CPU can reduce stutters and improve frame rates in demanding games.
Gamers who already have a strong AM4 setup for older or non-modern titles, because a 5600X-class system can already handle 4K60 without needing more CPU.
It is mainly worth it if you also need the 240mm AIO cooler; otherwise the CPU-only value is weak at this price. Several comments peg the bundle as poor value for an older AM4 chip and say similar money can buy an AM5/X3D platform bundle or a cheaper alternative CPU.
Yes, it can still deliver a noticeable gaming uplift on AM4, especially in CPU-limited or stutter-prone setups. Comments report smoother gameplay and fewer stutters after upgrading from Ryzen 3600/5600-class CPUs, with bigger gains when paired with stronger GPUs or higher-resolution VR use.
Yes. Undervolting is reported to improve performance while reducing heat, and one comment says it stayed crash-free even after days of video encoding. Another notes a 5700X3D undervolt can get within about 1-2% of a 5800X3D while running cooler.
Usually no. The reported uplift from 5700X3D to 5800X3D is only around 1-10%, so the extra spend is hard to justify unless you specifically need the 5800X3D for a niche use case.
Yes, the deal is described as limited stock, and at least one shopper bought immediately after deciding not to wait. That makes it more of a grab-it-now offer than a long-running sale.
I got this CPU last week from Amazon for the same price. It's paired with a 5070 Ti and wow....what a difference in BF6 FPS coming from a Ryzen 5600 and 12GB 3060.
Mostly due to the GPU upgrade but the CPU gave about 2-3% more in performance. (2k, 49" monitor.)

If you already have 5700x3d, literally no reason to waste extra money on 5800x3d at that point u might as well just go am5, 5700x3d to 5800x3d is max 10% ish, you got an insane deal on 5700x3d just stick with that till you fully intend to upgrade to am5 or skip this whole generation
No, not even close, the only bad part about 7600x3d is ddr5 ram, and 2 less cores, u wont really notice that in gaming, it will perform better by quite a bit in most games, if you have a gpu that can take advantage of it
I wonder if this is going to hurt the software makers in the near future.
Imagine a badass PC only game and nobody can play it because of scarce or overpriced hardware.
It'll be like Nintendo, they know they have limited hardware so they code around those constraints. But they're going to code what what people can afford and people will figure it out in other ways.

What you may not understand is not everybody's use case is going to be similar to yours. Case in point, I run my own YouTube channel so being able to run benchmark comparisons across a variety of processors that are part of the same CPU architecture and run on the same platform is beneficial to my cause. Before you mentioned it, I already built myself an AM5-based PC on my YT channel. So, again, my purposes for acquiring the 5800X3D is nothing remotely close to yours.

Will this site allow me to ask for your channel name?

Actually frank, I have the 5700x3d and I'll tell you, learn how to setup an undervolt on it. Tech yes city yt channel has a tutorial on it. It bumps the performance upto within 1-2% of the 5800x3d and it works great and runs cooler.
I bought this combo last week but haven't installed it yet. I pulled the trigger before really thinking about the price or considering what AM5 has to offer. Better yet just go with the Intel 250K for around. $150 less. At this price it's just not worth it.
