This would easily work as I do it already with a ryzen 5700x and a rx 7800xt

Damn, I bought. I only have time to change components and game during summer. This is probably best deal but only worth it if in need of a new cooler which i do (so saved around $39). Makes me feel slightly less regret that I didn't buy the $130 5700x3d on aliexpress and 9800x3d was just $385. I been paranoid about water coolers leaks but seems like it is very very low risk now. its fine if cooler pump breaks a few yrs down the road. Only feel the need to upgrade because I am playing VR & UEVR on high res vr headset and now this is back. Price wise, I did get the 5600x on release at $300... Going to rock with AM4 for a while since I don't really think I am being bottlenecked too much with this setup vs the crazy prices these days. And AM6 is not too far off.

Been running a 5800x3d since launch, must be one of the strongest cpus ever. Probably no need to move to AM5 ever.

I have a Ryzen 5 3600 and 2070 Super and honestly it does everything I want but a handful of games I want to run better, just not sure it is worth the money since I do not play new games, or at least rarely

a 5070 and my 3600 cpu is a bit bottleneck correct?

Bit of bottleneck but youd still see more fps; some games more cpu than gpu intensive so varies there

Not the most accurate bottleneck calculator, but better than nothing.

https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-...1920x1080/

No CPU bottleneck at 4K. Pretty large CPU bottleneck below 4K.

I got this CPU last week from Amazon for the same price. It's paired with a 5070 Ti and wow....what a difference in BF6 FPS coming from a Ryzen 5600 and 12GB 3060.

Mostly due to the GPU upgrade but the CPU gave about 2-3% more in performance. (2k, 49" monitor.)

I upgraded to 5800x3d and rx9070 from a r5 3600 and rtx4060. I did the cpu first, then gpu like a year later. Both were very noticeable, cpu alone reduced instances of stutters.

I would try to stretch budget to a 16gb GPU.

My r5 3600 is now in another system, matched to a rx6600.

What does the 12 core and 16 core cost these days? I bought one of each and they've been sitting at my house unopened since new, family drama and health problems got in the way. Wondering if I should just sit on them, build with them, or sell and get something else, pocket the cash while they're worth something still and wait for the market to correct

Yes, but to me it seems this is poor value for such an old CPU, albeit very good for gaming for it's time.

I was tempted but I have a 5800X already and have been sitting on my AM5 build for the last year and a half. I was fortunate enough to get a MB back at Christmas 2024 that came with 32GB of DDR5 RAM for free. It's almost $500 for it now. I put the money towards a 9800X3D instead.

At that price you could get the 7500x3d bundle with a stick of ram and motherboard

I thought the MSRP was set at $349 for the Anniversary Edition. I'm hoping a sale brings it below $300. If it's below $300, I might get 1 to replace my 5900X for gaming.
