Only "Good" condition near me and at that, it's at a BB that is pretty far away. Looks like good specs for the price, along with upgradeable RAM and 2 SSD slots. Bright 500 nit 1440p 240Hz display with a 5070 GPU and 32GB RAM. Not bad for $1400 in these times.

The one thing I don't like, but it's personal, is that Dell made the Alienware look like some cheap, Chinese laptop with no personality. Gone are the cool Alienware looks. Now, it's just a slab (of plastic?).

Definitely agree with you on the design part. Alienware laptops used to stand out before, esp. with their signature white accents. Unfortunately, not anymore.

I only see good for $1433. Worth it at this price? Looking for a mid-high end future proof laptop (specs will be avg in 5-7 yrs)

With these specs and today's economy, I think that's still a decent deal.

Don't think you could really say that about any 5070 laptop unless the price was ~$1k.

5070ti is where the line is for this generation, imo...and even then you have to confirm sufficient power delivery.

I don't leave BestBuy

I opened it at the counter and inspect it in front of them. If it's bad, I am already inline to return. I've done this twice so far and I tell sales associate and they're always "all good, I don't blame you"

There is usually enough counter space I can just shift down if needed

Fully agree - inspect it right at the counter and you can even ask an associate to open it. Have a pen light with you to inspect the screen and case for scratches, dings and dents. Much easier than to schlep it back to BB and explain that it was crap to begin with, not after you abused it.

Definitely. The one listed in good condition I bought didn't have a charger. Thankfully I opened it in my car on a hunch.

I buy open boxes from best buy fairly regularly, and they always let me open them in store to examine them.

Did you keep the laptop anyways? With that kind of savings, you can get another charger and still make out like a bandit!

I've bought so many open box laptops from BB (both PU in store and shipped) and I truly don't think they care why you return it. I received (shipped) a laptop that was missing the laptop! Just the box and charger. I knew something was up when I lifted the box from my front door. I took it back to the store, thinking they would blame me or think I was screwing them, but they didn't. They actually located the missing laptop at the store it shipped from. They don't even follow their own grading rules, and I've never had them question a single return. I do like BB which is why I keep buying from them. Almost as easy as Amazon on returns.

I just wonder -- if someone returns this Alienware 16X without the charger, does BB deduct something from the refund or do they just truly not care?

Dont see why the downvotes. The 5070 is a good point which I had overlooked. If this was 5080 maybe would be a no brainer... still on the fence though
