Not even similar laptops. Which do you want -- an ultra thin and light general purpose laptop or a heavy, thick gaming laptop?

If "value" to you is the best deal price-wise, then do the math and figure which one gives you the best percentage savings.
But since both laptops are completely different and different prices (the Alienware is 50% more than this LG), it's like asking "which is a better deal -- a really nice bicycle that is half off or a Tesla Cybertruck that is half off". Which one gives you the best value for your money?

Considering this laptop for my needs, which is for trading using Trading View on the go. I have an RTX 5090 at home and a Lenovo legion go S, so not really needing for gaming. Anyone have any valuable input as to why this is a good or bad choice? My budget can be higher, but I care about value.

If you want to game, get a laptop meant for gaming (Alienware). This is not a gaming laptop.

The Alienware deal is for you (if you can find one) if that is your preference.

you cannot define the value without deciding the main usage.

This is not a gaming laptop, but it actually can be used for AAA gaming at 1080p low or better settings. It can even play Cyberpunk 2077 at ~46fps with medium settings with XeSS. You get great battery life, the ability to use any productivity application and plenty of storage in a light, long-battery laptop. So long as you main goal isn't high-resolution gaming, this laptop is unlikely to disappoint you. My 16yo son has a 14" laptop with this CPU and he loves it.

That said, pairing this CPU/GPU with a 17" screen at QHD isn't the best since few modern games will have great frame rates at QHD on this iGPU. This GPU pairs best with a 14" 1080 OLED. But you can run games at lower resolution than the native resolution, so it isn't the end of the world.

I've had two of these now the rtx 2050 and now rtx 5050 version both 17 and there is no better portable long battery life large laptop on the market. For those needing a mobile workstation this is as good as it gets. If you can tolerate a Lower battery life and a higher weight then thr xps 17 is top dog but I walk with this all day and don't get tired. It's awesome and build quality is very good.
