Do we trust open box to have all the correct internals?

I'd verify everything to be cautious. Usually with open-box items I try pick up in store to check on it before signing it out.

Best Buys around me do NOT let you check the item before signing. When you come to the pick-up counter, they automatically mark your order filled. And if you are not happy with the condition, you will still have to go through the normal return process. This is the one reason why I hate their open box deals.

Oh weird - the locations I've ever been to allow me to turn the item on, open the box, etc before checking it out. If i change my mind I just ask them to cancel it.

I'm guessing that since these are open box that they have no warranty? I tried looking at the site, but don't see warranty information. I've never bought open box before, but considering this.

The RAM is a little slow for DDR5, according to answered questions it's only 4800 speed.

I may be wrong, but I believe open-box items are supposed to include a full warranty. You might have to contact the manufacturer with a proof of purchase though to reset the warranty timeframe. I recommend asking/verifying with best buy support as I may be wrong.

They would never do that. Cuts down on time wasters. Part of the game to get cheap deals. For a full PC though, I never tried testing that inside of thr store so I am not sure if they will allow you to test it after you sign.

But I image it you walk it over the geek squad, you could ask them to verify since you did just buy it from them:

Then say you can check it yourself. I bring a portable LCD/ keyboard and mouse to test computer. I just need power plug. Done this not for best buy but to test machines when not at home. Starbucks works or it used to when power plugs are not covered up since they hate dwellers with laptops there it seems these days.

I contemplated getting a portable power station but it's like $499 for a 600w+ unit Some cars have a plug that supports high power use The cigarette 9v will blow the fuse so can't use that

Unless it changed from when I worked there, you get the full warranty.

I am not even talking about testing it. They wouldn't let you do a visual inspection. They should allow you to confirm the cosmetic condition and the completeness of parts/accessories.
