I would much rather get the Ryzen 7 7840HS... it has the identical NPU power but it also has a 780m GPU and can play the newest games.

If NPU is meaningless (and it should be for most) you can then look at the 8845HS or the Ryzen 7 255 (most likely only on Mini PC's)... they all share the 780m GPU which is what you should try to target if you want a good CHEAP system.

You do realize that if I put a link the modes will most likely remove my post because that vendor never paid SD advertisement money.

But I will tell you EXACTLY what to do....

There are MANY CPUs that share the 780m GPU and I will list EVERY ONE of them.

Mobile & Laptop ProcessorsRyzen 8000 Series (Hawk Point)
AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS
AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS
AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS
AMD Ryzen 7 8840U
Ryzen 7040 Series (Phoenix)
AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS
AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS
AMD Ryzen 7 7840UOEM/Regional Exclusives
AND...

AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS
And there is the Ryzen 7 255
The last two are 0 TOPS0 NPU TOPS

I believe the fastest is... WHO CARES... they are all pretty close to each other. Obviously the Ryzen 9 will do the best at multi CPU performance.

So now you go to ebay and search Laptop "name of CPU" refurbished. This is how I buy my laptop.

The AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS is a NO GO... WAY too expensive BUT the 8845HS and others seem very promising... less then $600 with 16GB and 1TB... just the cost of RAM and hard drive is like $400ish. But the thing is, this laptop can play triple A games due to having the 780m GPU. When AMD made the CPU with a 780m... it was a complete game changer, you no longer need a dedicated GPU and it is good enough. I was very impressed.

I have had over 50 posts removed in my life. And when you put in the work and they pull it... it is not fun.

So about two years ago I purchased a Lenovo Idea Pad 5 with the 8845HS for just under $400.00 for my kid... 16GB and 1TB. Now they are going for $600...lol. My kid is in grade 8 in September and it gets very little use... but the thing is the hindges are suppose to break so be very very careful opening and closing and always us two hands.
