A lot (most?) people would be better off using an LG OLED as a monitor. There, I said it.

I bought this monitor in the 39 inch size as a downgrade from a 49inch samsung that wouldnt fit my new desk. The ppi is a little low but you get used to it. For gaming its gorgeous, for day to day the text is slightly off. The pricing is just insane though, I bought an open box for 39 inch LG for $699, I dont think I would have paid a dollar more. If you need a monitor, rock it, if you're just looking to upgrade, I would wait a few years, price to value just isn't there yet, even with it being an OLED. Just my 2 cents.

Honestly, its a bit more expensive but I think the AW3426DW is more worth it. At $800 use the Dell 10% off and its a solid deal

Completely agree. Wouldn't exactly call this a good deal. I was able to get the same 39" version from Cosco last year for $550 new on sale. Absolutely stunning display, couldn't really notice the lower ppi. The OLED is incredible, cant go back to LCD now

Heads up that this monitor has been installing software on windows without user consent and likely contains spyware to harvest and sell your data. Gamers Nexus just did a video on LG monitors and TVs

I have the exact same take as you on the LG 39". I went from a 34" Dell 1440p, non UW, non-OLED, to the same LG 39" you have, and I love it - except for the PPI, which I knew about before buying. I imagine if you aren't aware of the sacrifice needed to make such a massive screen, with such a (relatively) low resolution, you would be very disappointed in the PPI.

It's actually slightly better than my Dell, which I WAS disappointed in when I first got it (not knowing), but learned to live with it (and used a tack sharp, small 27" IPS to the side).

For gaming, it's breathtaking, and the inky blacks of OLED have spoiled me for any other tech that can't do that.

Since the screen in this deal is a lot smaller, the PPI is very decent here, at 110, but of course you lose a lot of vertical height (which I wasn't willing to do).

If you buy this monitor, you agree to let this LG monitor to eavesdrop on you and your guests. And it's your responsibility to obtain consent from your guests that LG can eavesdrop on them while next to this monitor. I wonder LG lawyers read what they're writing lol

That was my main issue, after using a 49 which is essentially two 27s, I did not want to lose the height again, theyre great monitors but short. I almost bought the 4k version this week but then it dawned on me, is ppi and 4k really worth $800 more than the $700 monitor I already like but am not in love with? Absolutely not. I think monitors are like Tvs, gaming has skyrocketed since covid its only a matter of time before we get to 8k panels and prices plummet. Give it 2-3 years.
