YMMV but I just saw these shorts in Costco for $10 in various colors. Obviously the $1 different isn't worth the trip, but if you're already there you can at least try before you buy and the return policy is solid.

I'm pretty sure this is the same type of shorts that I bought multiple pairs of for my son. The quality seems quite good, and the zippered pocket/s are a real plus. My son isn't really into sports as such, but he does like the shorts. I wish they had a version of these for women.

Just size down. I occasionally buy women's adidas items if they are on a good sale, I just size up.
