Coffee tastes better if you just use a manual cone & pour your own hot water in 3 or 4 different rounds after waiting 10-30 seconds between each to let the grounds release all of their flavor

yeah you can also get a Hario V60 cheap too. the special gimmick with this is, say you want a 12oz mug of coffee, you can put your grinds in and pour in all 12oz of hot water all at once and walk away.

with the smaller ones, you need to pour 2-3oz of water at a time, let it all drip, then add in 2-3 ozs more, wait, add in more water... etc. some people say it tastes better that way, i personally can't tell the difference, but what i do know is that this is quicker and way more convenient

I agree with you 100%.. Every electric grinder under $299 always produces uneven grind. (I use a manual.) Plus it's a good idea to also use a ceramic pour over cone rather than plastic.

Ceramic has too much heat capacity which causes your brewing water to get too cold. Plastic makes better coffee.

I actually bought it on Amazon but then cancelled it after seeing the Melitta one. Not to buy the Melitta. I originally had (still do) Aeropress. Switch to Hario V60, simply because I got tired of plunging. As you mentioned the OXO doesn't require 2 passes, but I don't find that enough of an advantage or improvement over the Hario to replace it.
