Blu Ray should be standard these days. Making DVDs is like continuing to make VHS simply because grandparents have only a VHS player in 2026.

Don't say that, you'll get down voted by a mercury driver with a handi tag.

Amazon also has the 5-film collection for sale. So I guess the 3-movie deal is good if you've never seen them but I think for collectability, it will probably be better to wait for a 6-movie collection since the last movie just came out.

Scary Movie 2 is where I got inspiration for my username, the best movie of the series in my opinion. However, haven't seen the newest one yet.

I'm fairly certain Blu Ray is standard today. Do you see any indications that it is not?

Inexpensive DVD or VHS versions of a movie accommodate a small percentage of users who are likely lower income. Are you opposed to this? It doesn't appear to impact the availability of higher quality versions of the same movie. I have to side with the movie studios on this one.

This sounds very "pro consumer" to me. Especially for a large company in 2026.

DVDs are said to be more fragile and have a shorter shelf life. Plus, users are more likely to double-dip and purchase a higher quality copy later if they purchase a DVD version of a movie. An argument could be made that this is worse for the environment. But it does seem that offering DVD-only copies benefits both the studios and the consumers.

Watch this scene. While I would recommend watching the whole thing, the username appears right around the 1:54 mark
