It's "supposed" to have all the same functionality as it's brother, the regular Canon R50.

I think that's saying a bit much though. This is a video-focused camera. It has almost zero buttons and physical controls on it for stills photography. No viewfinder. The grip is downright awful -- next to no ergonomics, and if you have anything larger than a child's hands, your thumb covers like three buttons. It's meant to be wrapped in a cage or set on a tripod.

So yeah, it's kinda awful for photography. Surprisingly enough, the video-focused R50V has a cable release port -- something the photo-focused R50 doesn't have.

Personally, I'd say avoid this camera entirely unless you know for sure it's going to fit within your workflow. If you have to ask, then it's probably not for you.
