I'm always skeptical of these Chinese ceiling fans even though money and features wise they are good on the paper. However most of them don't have UL or ETL certification, and customer support is usually nonexistent. Ceiling fans are a hassle to install and can be dangerous if something fails, so this is one of those things I wouldn't cheap out on.

I just installed this from the last deal. Super quiet and with 6 speeds you can find the one that is just right. The light is a good supplemental light, but not really great on it's own IMO. One thing I will praise is that it's a true flush mounting. No jamming remote transmitters and extra wiring crap into the small electrical box, everything is in the fan's bell housing. Heck this even comes with concrete anchors if you were installing it in a basement (bunker?) or apartment / condo.
For those worried about it "falling" there is a wire cable safety tether that you attach to the base plate that you use while installing and leave attached once mounted, But to be honest it's over kill - several screws would have to fail for this thing to fall, unless the installer just didn't anchor it correctly.

I don't. But I doubt this is actually as bright as a "100w" bulb.

I personally wouldn't buy a no name cheap ceiling fan. Some known companies make DC fans now if you actually care for it to be DC.
