Community Reviews
This 22 inch Blackstone is a portable propane griddle that works well for camping, tailgates, and smaller home setups. The newer omnivore version is described as heating better after a good preheat, and the stand makes it more versatile than the Costco cooktop only version. Capacity is the main tradeoff, with some finding it fine for a family of four or even larger batches, while others say the legs feel flimsy and the surface is better suited to smaller groups. A practical compact option if portability matters more than deck duty.
Common Questions (4)
It can handle a family of 4 comfortably for everyday use, and some owners cook for 4-6 people or even 16 quarter-pounders at once. For larger cookouts, it works best in batches rather than as a single huge cooking surface.
The newer omnivore-plate versions can get hot enough for a good smash-burger crust if preheated well. Older versions are reported to run cooler, and wind guards on the newer models help trap heat better.
The legs are reported to be flimsy, which makes it better suited to camping or portable use than as a permanent back-deck griddle. If you want a more stationary setup, a different model may be a better fit.
The Walmart version includes legs and a stand, while the Costco version is only the cooktop and is meant to sit on a table. That makes the Walmart bundle more ready-to-use for portable setups.
