50/50 either the bit snaps or c9mes apart from the 1/4 shank.

That's your fault, smaller drill bit requires higher speeds.

I got a free kit of these from work years ago. The kit has two 1/16 bits the rest just one. One guess which of the only 2 bits in the set are broken. 😅
