Sorry if this is a silly question, but what is the advantage of a sun protection full-zip jacket vs a cheaper sun-protection T-shirt? You do get zippers, but doesn't that just make the shirt more bulky?

I usually get the Uniqlo uv hoodie which is very similar but has a cuffed waist. Cost a bit more

A jacket gives you pockets for phone/keys/wallet... Besides. full-zip making it easier to put on and take off.

I like the zip ones because an unadvertised perk of upf shirts like this is they can be a full coverage frog togg. Take it off, get it wet in the sink, and you have a fast-drying swamp-cooled jacket. This saved my bacon during sports season.
