Typical Costco treasure hunt item. People will buy this thing just because it's a supposed good price and then after they realize it's just too big and unwieldy, they will want to get rid of it or will put it on a shelf in the garage. It's not going to fit easily into a drawer and it's huge sitting on a counter. I'm sure there are some people who have a real need for this thing but I bet a lot of the people buying it end up not using it.

This has been out for a while. Has anyone had their existing battery fail?

I just wish this would have a carrier that took rechargeables in the modern new size and voltages like the 18650. Not the AA platform.

Was it really $50 before? I forget. Looks like the new model came out with 10,000L instead of 7,000 and "spot beam" function guess that's why the old one is on sale

I bought one of these and immediately had an issue where it would not stay on the high setting. It has a feature that automatically dims when the flashlight is in close proximity to a surface. If you take the flashlight out of demo mode before removing it from the package, you will see this feature in action since the packaging triggers it.

In my case, it seems that the sensor was defective or perhaps it was dirty?

I think my warehouse already had it clearanced at $26.97 or something. I was tempted but didn't buy. If it's $16.97 I may reconsider.
