My local Indian and Chinese (and many other) restaurants give a few of these away for free with every takeout or delivery order.

5 packs of rubbermaid containers are $1.99 every week at the supermarket, so assuming these '50 piece sets' are counting lids and containers as 2 pieces, that's 5 x $1.99 to get the rubbermaid ones instead, and the rubbermaid are lots thicker, dishwasher / freezer / microwave safe so how is this a deal for thinner cheapos for more money?

A set is one bowl and one lid. So, you would get 50 bowls and 50 lids with this deal. So, your Rubbermaid containers would be closer to 20 bucks. Also, where can you get Rubbermaid 5packs for 2 bucks. If so, I need to pick some up.

This is kind of normal price. Sams Club would be cheaper in their 250 (or whatever pack) they sell. The local restaurant supply company sells a 48 pack (4 one-dozen packs) for $9.95 every day.
