It's nuts what these prices have come to. But also, if you're a beginner, (A) don't expect to cut more than half the rated thickness and - at anything more than sheet metal - (B) expect to blow through 4-5 tips before you get the hang of plasma cutting. (and don't forget your safety gear)

Nonsense. Everyone should get to experience molten beads of metal melting through their shoes and into their feet.

With Plasma Cutters, you still need eye protection against UV and IR. Wear shade #5 goggles-glasses

In addition to the plasma cutter, you'll need a decent sized air compressor to cut any metal.

Both Ozone Generator and another new Plasma Cutter I already have, never plugged in. Maybe its getting lonely and needs a mate?

Yes, but it's not just the breaker. You need to make sure you have at least 8ga wire in that 35amp (minimum) circuit on that breaker.
That's for the 110 volt hookup. The 220 is a 50amp breaker/circuit.

You're seeing the reduced price because it's an earlier Gen 8 model and since then they've fixed reported issues, bugs and made parts improvements for better reliability & useability.
IMO, you'd be far better off paying the extra $40 for their Gen 12 model, which is 51% off anyway and better 'bang for your buck.

BTC500DP Series (50A) | Model | Key Differences | |---|---| | 7GEN | Original design; basic pilot arc, LED display, dual voltage 110/220V | | 8GEN | Adds air sensor display, adjustable PA/PT (up to 15s), post-flow cooling (3–15s), 1/4" quick connector | | 8GEN Yellow | Same as 8GEN — cosmetic color difference only | | 10GEN | Incremental internal/circuit refinements over 8GEN; same core specs |
BTC550DP / BTC600DP / BTC650DP+ (Higher Amperage) | Model | Key Differences | |---|---| | BTC550DP 12GEN | Steps up to ~55A; slightly thicker max cut | | BTC600DP 13GEN | 60A output; improved duty cycle; thicker cut capacity | | BTC650DP 10GEN | 65A; heavier-duty use | | BTC750DP 12GEN | 75A; workshop/professional level | | BTC800DP 9GEN | 80A; top of the lineup

I bought the BTC550DP on your advice. I can't find the manual though. I am looking to get some extra tips but I can't figure out what torch model it uses.
