This is a prime example of when people say "you won't be able to play your digital games in 20-30 years!" I look at this 29 year old game, that I have that's likely fully playable with a disk sitting in a stack of other old PC games, and go "Nah... if I am going to play it, I want to play the most modern version of it"

But you can still play the original if you want. Isn't that wonderful?

I agree with person above. Most people won't actually want to. I did the same thing with Horizon Zero Dawn which isn't even that old. Played a few hours, put it down. Now I'm playing the remaster. I agree with you on the point that optionality is good, but people are putting too much weight into it. Some people love retro games and that's fair, but a lot of people think they love retro games when they actually just want to play the latest AAA

Recently there was a thread for a deal on super Mario rpg for switch and everyone in the thread was commenting how the original is better and that Nintendo ruined it by making it too easy. So I suppose it's give and take depending on the game
