I never understood these. I get the concept and it's good keeping guns safe from kids but a burglar would just take it home with him and open it by other means

I mount them through the inside to a wall stud or to furniture. I don't one like this one but I have similar ones around the house mounted to walls and behind my bar.

It's not meant to protect against theft, that's what a full size gun safe is for. This is just meant to prevent access to your pistol from kids, intruders, or anyone else
