Costco had Kevin's Ginger Beef listed at $1.97 in their store today. Not sure if they are clearing out the stock of this product or it was a price mistake. The normal price is $19.78.

I was able to purchase a few large cases of them without any issue at checkout so it does't seem to be a mistake. Looking at the package I see "USE OR FREEZE BY 07/17/2026" so my guess is my location had a ton of extra inventory and needed to move it.

Item # 1858497

In store only - YMMV

90% off is not 100% off.

Edit: they got it fixed. It wasn't a real gripe. 90% off anything is a great deal.

I'm sorry, did you say A FEW LARGE CASES ???

Clearly, I'm not doing Slickdeals or Costco the way they're supposed to be done 🙂

The post seems to have been fixed with the correct calculation. Ha, I didn't not walk out of the store with it for free but it sure did feel like it with the amount of savings.

It was probably just nearing the sell by date. Probably very very location specific.

I think you are spot on. I checked the expiration date and it says "USE OR FREEZE BY 07/17/2026". So my guess is my location had a ton of extra inventory and needed to move it quick. I definitely helped them with that. But as always, I left some for another shopper to stumble on and snag when shopping today.

For $1.97 I'd clear some freezer space too. Kevin's stuff is usually decent for a quick weeknight meal, and if the date is only a couple days out, freezing it is a no-brainer. Makes me want to check my local Costco just in case.

Wow, you bought 46 containers! That's a lot of them. You must have a lot of empty space in the freezer.

At Costco, the price ending with 7 (for example, $1.97) is a clearance price, not a mistake price. I often go to Costco and walk around to see if anything is on clearance with the price ending with 7. Food nearing expiration dates get clearanced.

In this case, it's better to tell people which store had this clearance.

I just had this happen but with Real Good chicken and pepper jack cheese burritos. Just expired and was $1.97. Bought a bunch and put them in the freezer.

There's even an app called CostLow that tracks these .97 deals

Is there any way to search local inventory online? I usually just check instacart but not seeing anything near me. Thanks for sharing.

Get some oyster sauce and saute with some cooked broccoli, server on white rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

That's basically my goto for all sliced beef.

20 orginal price thats crazy. i probably wouldnt try it for more than 12. maybe up to 24.97 with a costco coupon/* bait Stick Out Tongue but at this price and having freezer space its a slickdeal. if limited space. id just try one package as is if care for the sauce or not to save room. and then just freeze the meat part.

The container adds bulk for sure.
