i have this pc, bought 96gb ram (the max it can take) prior to the rampocalypse and a 2tb i got from slickdeals for $86. its been an absolute workhorse, i run linux on it and got the radeon eGPU to go with it.
At this price, im tempted to buy another but I'd want to have more ram. Just wanted to share in case someones on the fence. Also, you can 3D print a better top for it, which the existing top locks into, to give it more breathing room for the fan.

Crazy that these things were selling for $400 with a 1TB SSD not too long ago. This madness needs to end already. BTW the price increase here is a lot more than the price of RAM has increased, especially with the SSD being half the size it used to be so price is the same. Most companies are using it as an excuse to drastically increase profits while they hide behind "AI price increase" nonsense.

I got my 8745 HS for $232 with 16Gb and 512GB. But those days are over. But for $100 less I would rather get the Ryzen 7 255 in the A5F acemagic case for $580... 1TB and 24GB DDR4 6400. Because the Acemagic runs cooler.
In the end there has been chatter that the excessive heat on these mini pc will lower the life expectancy of the product. And these mini PC's are usually prone to heat.

Especially when one considers consumer computers do not use any part that would go into an AI farm!Well, maybe the AC power cord.

They also have very little safety factor. Meaning, even a small bit of internal dust restricts airflow enough to cause thermaling.

Old enough to remember when RAM was a cheap upgrade and you could upgrade a MacBook. Pro with ease.
about $160 more than it was last year. Always was over $500. This is arguably the best of the zen4 mini PCs in terms of build quality and feature set. You can open it without a screwdriver, it doesnt sacrifice an m2 slot for oculink like the minisforum ones do, and it arguably is quieter and better at cooling than than the aoostar ones.
