Movies are generally 24 FPS.When playing back a 24 FPS source on a. 120Hz panel, it displays each frame for 5 refreshes evenly. When displaying 24FPS over 60 refresh cycles, you must unevenly display them by displaying some frames for 3 refreshes and others for 2 cycles. This is called 3:2 pulldown and it's what makes 60Hz panels so undesirable. That's why you saw over a decade of 120Hz native panels with only 60Hz (HDMI 2 and even older 1.X for 1080P) inputs.

I have the 55" version as a bedroom tv. It's not very bright but a bit brighter than lower end TVs. I also have a tcl qm7 and it's no where near that brightness.

I have the 55" version as a bedroom tv. It's not very bright but a bit brighter than lower end TVs. I also have a tcl qm7 and it's no where near that brightness.

60hz only downside. If you stream, watch sports or game, just spend the extra couple hundred on 120hz. 60 is fine for basic cable, satellite, DVDs, etc.

They don't film at 120hz so this would be a waste. They don't really shoot at 60hz very often. Most is done at 30hz. Gaming yea, 120hz go for it if you game.
