What's wrong using a good old-fashion spatula?

Go to the listing on Amazon itself, it's shown being used for a burger as well...

I would recommend going stainless steel. While cast iron seems good, when all you're using this for is pressing down, you don't want to deal with seasoning and maintain cast iron

You can weigh down burger patties with this but would be interesting to see how smash burger would come out.

Would it need to be seasoned and maintained like a cast iron pan since food won't be cooked on the press. More of a weight to keep food flat in the pan so it is evenly cooked.

I have had this for a couple of years now. Works well for bacon. Will cover the cooking suface of a 10 inch pan. It covers enough of a 12 inch pan to cook bacon. Keep up has been simple. I wash it with soap and water, rinse and then heat up on the stove burner to make sure it's 100% dry. No issues with it and still looks new outside some minor burn marks on the wooden handle. Could work for burgers, but the bottom is not flat. It has groves in it.

Cook your bacon in an oven. It's so much easier.

As for this, I've had a stainless one since last year, and it is a game-changer for burgers and steak for searing. I wish I had bought it years ago.
