Do you have to configure through their cloud portal or can you configure it locally and use it without connecting to their cloud?

Unfortunately I had to return this because I couldn't get more than 800 mpbs on this unit.
We have a 2gbps connection and I got Eero 7 pro routers through the provider. But I have been a long Deco user and like putting only the 5ghz on my main network and 2.4ghz on Guest.
This unit could not push more thah 800mbps. You need 6ghz, 320mhz and more antennas than what this unit provides which was a deal breaker for me. Although the port supports 2.5gbps, it wasn't useful. I tried researching everywhere but couldn't find a solution around it. I used to get around 1.8gpbs on the Eero. The decos internal speedtest showed the full 2gbps, but the throughput over wifi was not more than 800mbps. If speed is not a concern, this is a solid deal.

I can only speak for my 6E deco set but I'm able to both. It strongly prefers the app but if you just navigate to your default gateway in browsers the local configuration is there.

Edit: you may need to do the initial setup online though :/

I have nothing against Chinese products but you shouldn't be buying network products from a Chinese company.

What does that have to do with this deal?
That is a much older and slower model.

walmart exclusive unit with greatly gimped features and only wifi 6. Maybe you can load firmware or something to get more features but this is very entry level. The OP systems is well worth the upgrade and while I haven't shopped for new routers or mesh units in a while $120 seems like a solid price for a 2 unit mesh system with wifi 7. Wifi 7 isn't in big demand on devices but why buy now knowingly limiting yourself (unless maybe you don't do smart home at all and have like a phone, computer, and tv online and that's it). The comment about speed is concerning but would be more concerning if there were a pattern of that.

Well you're gonna have to do some digging if you want to have an AMERICAN made router.
