Seems like a charitable interpretation of the original comment would be that it is "perfect for elementary school-aged children." rather than assuming some sort of agenda.

That's a pretty broad conclusion. They may have meant elementary-aged children, a private school, or a homeschool setting. And even in a public school, there's a difference between teaching religion and allowing a religious book in the library.

Excellent children's Bible. Perfect for elementary age children. We use it and it's resources at our church for teaching the children.

This book has no place in school, and elementary one at that.

With religion there is always an agenda.

But isn't this just stories from the bible? I'd say it's better to spend the extra $5 and get the ESV Holy Bible for Kids by the same publisher. It's also 3x longer than this version but likely depends on the age of your child and if they can handle scriptures or not.

I generally don't read fiction like this.

It does an excellent job of telling the story in a way that is easy to comprehend for little ones and also does a wonderful job of showing it's relationship to the overarching story of the gospel and Jesus. That's something that isn't necessarily easy to do for a parent. I can't speak to the other Bible you referenced. In my house we tend to read the story from this and then read it straight from our ESV so that we can get more comfortable with that reading level and understanding what it all means.

Some of the ways it rewrites texts is strange, but overall solid for reading to little kids.

This seems like a good follow up to the Jesus storybook Bible? My son loves that at nighttime but thinking ahead to a couple years from now.

The poster never said they use it in school they said they use it at their Church. It's okay to be Republican and it's okay to be a Democrat just don't be a dick
