Yeah, the original Selsun Blue uses selenium sulfide which actually treats what causes the flaking and itchiness in the first place, while salicylic acid is good at cleansing your hair and any scalp buildup of impurities, dandruff, and scaling. Which can bring some relief, but it is a losing battle to just use salicylic acid. Ideally you want to use ketoconazole to actually attack the root cause of the problem.
