This GarveeHome 12,000 BTU mini split stands out as a low cost way to add both cooling and heat, with strong efficiency compared with window units and quiet operation. The comments also point to easy DIY installation for handy buyers, and the included line set and precharged setup help keep the job straightforward. The main cautions are that it is not WiFi, the electrical work still needs care, and the listing appears to have shifted from SEER 19 to SEER2 17. It looks best for a garage, shed, or room where 230V power is already available.
Common Questions (6)
DIY installation is commonly described as straightforward for a handy buyer: mount the indoor unit, drill a wall hole, run the lines and wire, then vacuum the line set and release the precharged refrigerant. First-time installs have taken anywhere from about 45 minutes to a few days, and the hardest parts are usually the electrical work and cutting the wall opening.
It is a 230V unit, but commenters say it does not need a 50A circuit; a dedicated 15A or 20A double-pole breaker is typically considered enough for this 12k BTU model. Several also note that 120V and 240V versions appear to perform similarly, so the main difference is the wiring you already have available.
For a 200-250 sq ft bedroom, 12,000 BTU is often considered oversized, with 9,000 BTU suggested instead. For garages and larger spaces, 12,000 BTU can work, but insulation, sun exposure, and heat load matter a lot; some users in south Texas say smaller units struggle in peak afternoon heat.
This model is not Wi‑Fi, so it does not offer native app control. That matters if you want to pre-cool or pre-heat remotely; otherwise the included remote still works, and some buyers prefer skipping Wi‑Fi to save money.
Yes, the package includes a 3000mm line set, but buyers still mention needing extra install items such as a vacuum pump, disconnect box, breaker, whip, brackets or stand, and sometimes conduit or trim kit. Those extras can add roughly $150 to $250 or more to a DIY install.
Only if the camper already has 230V/240V power available, typically a 50A setup with a NEMA 14-50 receptacle. A standard 30A camper outlet is only 120V, so this unit will not run from that supply.

The space I had was around 625 ft2. I was running 2 portable units - one dual hose and one single. One was in an office and the other in a sit down area separated by a door.
This unit exceeds my expectations. Rooms are now cooler than running the two units. I am now only running the minisplit. No noise and soo cool.
fyi cost at the time was $329 plus tax. have another roughly $250 in equipment and supplies.

Edit: I see the inexpensive U shaped Media inverter window air conditioner everyone is using also has a 15 SEER rating.
Realize that just because any a/c or appliance is 230v does NOT mean it is or requires a 50 amp circuit.
This unit won't even come close to exceeding a 20 amp 220v service.
you failed.

If you buy one, you will still need the electrical whip, disconnect box, stand or brackets and maybe the trim kit. $150 or so.
Now hire someone with equipment (tools, vacuum pump, etc) and licensed. Best case - 2 guys 4 hours each = 8 hours @ $100 hr = $800. That would be best case in my opinion.
If you are refering to my earlier post, I spent $250 if not a bit more on a stand, electrical whip, disconnect box, breaker, hose trim kit, vacuum pump with manifold & extra PTFE tape.

The point is... all he said was can it be used in "a small camper". No matter whether this mini-split is installed in a small camper, or a monstrous size camper, a house trailer, or apartment, or home... it STILL only requires less than a 20 amp circuit/breaker.
By you telling him he needs to find a 50 amp hookup shows you are very misguided.
If you have to butter your ego to laughably say "you failed" to me, when it's you that doesn't know electrical requirements and proper hookups, says it all.
2 holes through the wall and hang it.
