Interested but I would like the mat version instead of the glossy display version. We also currently have a Samsung Smart TV and we hate the UI, it's terrible to navigate even with a separate Roku plugged in so I have my doubts about the UI for this TV. I'll probably hold off and try the TCL version of this TV somewhere down the road

I couldn't agree more. I have an Nvidia Shield Pro hooked into mine. I've been able to setup 'open last source' on the tv, setup the remote, and never look back. That may be your best bet. I'd like to get a Samsung TV for my living room but everything Samsung for me tends to break. The Samsung sound bar is glitchy as hell.

I agree. I love my frame TV and how it looks, but the software drives me a little crazy. It's super slow.
Fairly certain this is a matte display; iirc that's a part of how these tvs achieve the art effect.
We bought this model from Costco a few months back to use in a bedroom. At that time this was the only 55" Frame offering from Samsung, though it looks like they now have a 55" version of the Frame Pro (but at ~2x the cost).
We've been happy with ours for casual viewing using an AppleTV as the source (bypassing the built-in Samsung OS which as others have said is awful).
Any feedback on if this would be a good choice to mount in a bedroom? I like the idea of having a tv in my bedroom but I can't decide. Two south facing windows if that matters.
I picked this same set up from Samsung Partner/EDU for $455 two weeks ago. It seems like it often fluctuates there so if you have access to the Partner/EDU at Samsung and are willing to wait you might be able to get it cheaper.
I have the 43" version of this in the bedroom. Fantastic hardware but the Samsung software (OS) is god awful, every update seems to take away useful features and add more useless junk and ads.
Why is this tv designed so well but has such a dogshit panel
To keeps costs lower. The panel on these is good enough for the artwork mode to look really good. I bought one of these and put it up in the bedroom without telling my wife and when she saw it she had no idea it was a TV. She thought I had put framed artwork on the wall. There is a more expensive pro version with a higher quality panel.

I have a 65 inch version that is the previous generation. We have it mounted above a fireplace mantel in a formal living room and use it 99% for art display. You may already know this but these Frame TVs come with a very thin cord that connects to a huge power brick that also doubles as a way to plug in HDMI devices. It's about 4 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 6 inches deep. It looks ok for us because we happen to have a power outlet built into the mantel and this power box sits in front of the outlet with only about 4 inches of the cable running from the box to the TV being exposed which we covered and painted with the same color wall paint. If you are mounting this to a bare wall you'll need to account for a power outlet and where this large box is going to be placed. If you have a chest of drawers for example, you could place it below the TV and hide the box underneath it as long as there is an outlet somewhere. This would then look like and be similar to the clean look of mounting a painting above the chest of drawers yet having both art and TV capability. I personally think it does great as a TV too. We get a lot of sun in our formal living room and the matte finish seems to do very well to not washing out the picture. Hope this helps!

You should have posted that deal! It's showing $1299 right now on my edu account. I'd like to buy another one.

If not since it's the same price everywhere who has the best bang for the buck?
