Trappey's Red Devil:
Ingredients
Distilled Vinegar (Vinegar and Water), Red Cayenne pepper, Salt, Guar Gum, Xanthan Gum, Ascorbic Acid (to preserve freshness).
Frank's Red Hot:
INGREDIENTS: Aged Cayenne Red Peppers, Distilled Vinegar, Water, Salt and Garlic Powder.
Trappey's Red Devil:

Personally, I prefer sauces and, for that matter, foods, that have less ingredients, less "gums," less preservatives etc. Why a hot sauce that features vinegar as first ingredient requires a preservative and also has a lot of salt in it is beyond my expertise. But it (Red Devil in OP) DOES in fact have a preservative in it, whereas Frank's does not. And it has TWO different "gums" which really don't belong in a true Louisiana type hot sauce in my opinion. Yes, on taste and ingredients, I prefer Frank's, and am not making claims of "dangerous" or "safe," which is super subjective anyway. For those who care, Frank's and original Tabasco have some of the cleanest, simplest, shortest ingredient lists of any hot sauces out there…
