The Segway E3 Pro SE stands out as a strong value scooter, especially with the included phone mount and cable lock, which add meaningful extras to the $349 price. It is described as a solid upgrade over the E2 Plus 2, with better hill performance, and it has elastomer suspension at both ends plus pneumatic tires for a smoother ride. Real world use includes carrying 220 pounds up a 5 percent grade without much speed loss. The main caution is availability and pricing friction, since in store pricing did not always match, though online Plus access and free shipping were live.
Riders who want included security and phone accessories, because the package includes a cable lock and phone mount that would otherwise add extra cost.
Riders expecting a basic lock to replace a high-security lock, because the included cable lock is still recommended to be supplemented with a mini U-lock.
Yes. The Sam's Club deal includes the scooter plus a phone mount and cable lock, and those accessories are valued at about $30 each on Segway's site, which makes the $349 price especially strong.
It reportedly handled a 5% grade with a 220 lb rider without losing much speed. That suggests it has enough torque for moderate hills and heavier riders, though steeper climbs may still slow it down.
This seems like a really good deal, no? I think I paid just under this for my E2 Plus 2 a year or so ago and this appears to be better in every way. The E2P2 is serviceable for tooling around but I'm near the weight limit and performance on even minor inclines is disappointing. Thinking about upgrading and selling the E2P2 while it still has some value.
Edit: looks like I paid over $100 less for the E2P2. Still might do it anyway.
Bought this guy 3 days ago for 500$ online, really hoping they can reimburse me the 150$ 😬
update: was able to contact Sam's club and they price matched it down, getting a refund in a few days 😁
this scooter is honestly pretty damn good, especially for 350$ it's an absolute steal!

This is a steal for the scooter alone, not to mention the phone mount & cable lock which retail for $30 a piece from the official Segway website.
Fyi, my e3 pro also came with these. The lock is burly for a cable lock, but I highly recommend a mini U-lock with sold secure gold or diamond rating depending on use / if you lock - of course that increases the price overall.

The scooter can handle a 5% grade while carrying about 220 pounds with minimal speed loss.
The scooter includes elastomer suspension at both ends and pneumatic tires for ride comfort.
The package includes a phone mount and cable lock that reportedly retail for $30 each on Segway's official site.
Price matching reportedly worked after an initial $500 purchase, resulting in a $150 refund.
In-store attempts reportedly failed to get the $350 price even with Sam's Plus, wasting about 35 minutes.
The included cable lock is described as burly, but a mini U-lock with Sold Secure Gold or Diamond is recommended for better security.
A prior E2 Plus 2 experience reportedly showed disappointing performance on minor inclines near the weight limit.
