The metabo has a higher revv whineee.... guess it's like a 4 banger honda w VTEC.
the craftsman has a nicer to the ears lower register brrrrr
the trigger of the craftsman is wider and FLAT compared to the metabo.. slightly less wide but usefully more contoured trigger.
Metabo is a touch heavier, noticable side by side w/ craftsman.
But the Metabo is very balanced, with a all metal chuck.
LED of the metabo seems brighter and covers a wider area.
Overall, Metabo DS18DEX is more of a mini thank, side by side.
The charger for the Metabo is huge, literally a brick. Maybe it's got loads of circuitry... lol.
the craftsman is 1/3 the size, the size of the battery itself for the most part.
the forward/reverse switch is smoother and less effort using my side of index finger / thumb to toggle to/from on either respective side while holding the drill in hand for the metabo.... they made it so it feels like there's less of a throw involved.
THe Metabo comes w/ a bit, the craftsman, nothing.
