Can't attest to the included reel, but I have a Plusinno 7'.9" telescoping rod just like this one and so far it's holding up well. I paired mine with a cheap Amazon Trout Boy 3000 series reel that also works pretty good so far. Bought each like 6+ years ago and makes a nice compact rig you can literally throw into a bag or backpack or even hang out of your back pocket.

Would you recommend for a bug out kit in truck? Durability wise?
