This 3 in 1 burger press is best for making uniform patties, stuffed burgers, and freezer stacks that can be separated with parchment or plastic for later use. The removable bottom plate makes patties easy to release, the whole unit comes apart for washing, and the base can be screwed down if desired. It also helps keep burger size and shape consistent, though the patties can run small and different beef blends shrink differently. Cleaning and cross contamination are the main tradeoffs, and the lid tabs can wear over time.

  • The press can produce uniform patties that stack cleanly with parchment for freezing later use.

  • The press can be disassembled for washing, which helps with routine cleaning and maintenance.

  • The removable bottom plate makes it easier to release burgers without sticking during pressing.

  • The press can help create thicker, straight-sided burgers when used for consistent shaping.

  • The press can increase cross-contamination and cleaning effort if patties and beef types are not managed carefully.

  • Different beef types can shrink differently, which can affect how well the press shape holds.

  • A 3D-printed alternative may be unsafe because printing grooves can create porous spots for bacteria.

  • The lid-keeping nubs on a generic version can wear out, which can prevent the lid pieces from staying together consistently.

I have a generic version of this and sure it's the exact same thing. Been using it for the past 6 years. Like the fact the entire thing comes apart for washing however the nubs that keep the 2 pieces of the lid together are worn and doesn't stay together consistently. Easily in for a cheap replacement.

lots of people in this comment section without a clue.

the use case for this is not simply just to make hamburgers for dinner, its to make hamburgers to stack divided by parchment paper so you can freeze them for later use. we get it. you know how to make burgers by hand. but you cant do that with hand pressed patties. they need to be exactly uniform.

we bought the weston brand one, which is much better and adjustable thickness.

FWIW, I recently had a burger out at a steakhouse and it was a thick boy with sides that were straight up. One of the best burgers I've ever had.

I credit some of the reason why is definitely a press like this.

I remember back when I was a kid when Tupperware was all the rage, my Mom bought a Tupperware version of this. She was excited to use it when it arrived, and the family had hamburgers made with it that night. To this day, some 40 years later, that burger press hasn't moved from the space it has occupied in her kitchen cabinet, probably since that night. This is exactly what will become of this press, should anyone purchase this. If you can't make burger patties with your hands, you probably need to rethink your role in the kitchen.
I have a different one and have made over 2000 burgers with it over the years. I separate the patties with plastic made especially for the purpose and freeze them so my kids can make a quick burger when they feel like it. It's a great tool for the purpose. If you don't want one, don't buy one.

No worries, I don't want one and I won't be buying one. That's kind of the point of all that has been said here. And if I did want to use one, I know exactly where I can find one for free that has been setting, unused, for 40 years.

2000 burgers. Wow. Amazing that you keep track of such things. Might want to check your family's blood pressure and lipids.

I'm on my third pack of a thousand separators. And, our blood pressure and cholesterol are fine. Thanks for your concern.
