I have one of these. Making stuffed burgers is the biggest game changer to my burger game. The pictures don't show the whole thing, as it splits apart more. There's a groove maker for the stuffing part if you twist off the "solid" bottom piece of the handle. The inside of the handle has a part for making sliders, it comes out as it would be impossible to use while in the handle.
We routinely try new stuffing combos as a family, we even have some charts based on what we like or didn't like.
The base is meant to be screwed down to some surface, as it has mounting holes. I don't use it like that because the bottom plate is removable and makes taking the burgers out easy. Oil it up before use for easy removal.

Imagine a world where something like this is needed to flattened ground meat. Almost like an extension of your...hands.

I made fun of these 30 years ago when my roommates had one. Wonderful, more cross-contamination and cleaning. Plus not every type of beef requires the same shape, some shrink a ton, others (leaner) stay flatter. I use parchment between patties if I'm making a ton. But manual lets you control the size and shape.

OTOH, a good heavy press for smashburgers is a great tool.

I remember back when I was a kid when Tupperware was all the rage, my Mom bought a Tupperware version of this. She was excited to use it when it arrived, and the family had hamburgers made with it that night. To this day, some 40 years later, that burger press hasn't moved from the space it has occupied in her kitchen cabinet, probably since that night.

This is exactly what will become of this press, should anyone purchase this.

If you can't make burger patties with your hands, you probably need to rethink your role in the kitchen.

Man, two comments about hating on a burger shaping tool. Let the people buy it if they want it.Personally I like just using two plates, but there is something about making the patty the same depth all the way across.

3D prints are not typically food safe for something like this on their own. Yes there are food grade filaments, but the grooves from the printing process create porous spots for bacteria. You would either need to wrap it in plastic wrap or parchment paper OR seal with food grade epoxy.

I've had a burger thing for years. Make them uniform in shape. But yeah use your hands if you're too insecure to use tools.

OMG i literally have the same memory .... my mom got it while at a Tupperware party when i was in the 6th grade (how the heck i remember that i have no idea) ... dad used it once .... then it stayed on the top right upper cabinet space for the next few decades .... i bet if i go look today its still there .... but apparently dads way of taking 2 plates, putting the meat in the middle and then pressing down to make patties was faster and easier ... go figure ...
