That's what barebone means, and it's already mentioned everywhere in the post.

It has been this price on Amazon for a while. Not a deal price for years old barebones system.

Link so I don't get attacked.

Doesn't hurt to mention it again. Avoids returns and the carbon footprint, patriot

After this mini PC came out two years ago, I bought it with WIN11, 64 GB DDR5 memory and a 1 TB SSD. I paid $689. It's a fine little machine to which I added a $200 4TB SSD for internal data storage. I shudder to think what that setup would cost today!

Looked up the price too. insert WTF gif. Great, finally a good HDMI 2.1 system for a HTPC. I guess I could rip apart my wife's laptop for a single DIMM...

For this price, it should. But... you should learn how to install the operating system yourself, for privacy and security reasons.

I'm kicking myself for thinking $240 for 64GB DDR4 ram was a bit too high

I'm looking at the front page post for this deal on SlickDeals. I see a thread title that includes the word "Barebone". I see a list of specs in the body of the post, which includes 2 available SODIMM slots and 2 M.2 slots for NVMe. I do not see anywhere in the post where it explicitly calls out the fact that this PC does not include RAM or storage.

I agree that it does get tiring having to see the same type of comments made every time there is a barebones deal. But at the same time, I assume there are many people who aren't familiar with incomplete systems like this.

The "right" answer is probably to update the deal's Community Notes (Wiki). I just did for this deal. Unfortunately, SlickDeals doesn't make this information very obvious anymore. It used to be just above the first post. Now it is buried behind the main details behind a button nobody presses.
